How to Select Your Tablet Deduster

Here are a few simple rules of thumb to follow:

If you’re handling standard tablets, an uphill deduster is the most common choice. For fragile or effervescent tablets, horizontal models with adjustable vibration can protect your product.
If your deduster connects to a tablet press, choose one with 10-20% more capacity than the press output to avoid bottlenecks.
Measure your inlet and outlet heights. If tablets need to move upward to a metal detector, an uphill deduster is often the best option.
Look for tool-free assembly so you can disassemble and clean the deduster quickly between batches, significantly reducing downtime.

How a Tablet Deduster Works: Three Core Mechanisms

Tablet dedusters are mainly available in three types: horizontal, vertical, and brush-type. And each works its own way.

Horizontal Dedusters

Tablets enter a slightly inclined perforated tube or plate → Gentle vibration moves them forward → Continuous shaking loosens surface powder → Dust falls through perforations → A vacuum system extracts the waste.

Vertical Dedusters

Tablets enter a helical perforated path → Electromagnetic vibration moves tablets upward → Gentle friction removes dust and burrs → Compressed air blows away loose particles → A vacuum extracts the remaining dust.

Brush-Type Dedusters
